Pitch Reports

The average first innings score at Ahmedabad this season is 187.67 with the chasing team winning all three matches so far. However, the team bowling first (Gujarat) in the past two games were in strong positions to win, before Rinku Singh pulled it off for KKR and Samson/Hetmyer did the job for Rajasthan after early trouble.

A very hot and mostly clear evening is forecast. We can expect some dew, so the captain who wins the toss is likely to field.

Shubman Gill He loves batting on this ground, with 370 runs in seven T20s at an average of 74.00 and strike rate of 146.25.
Gill’s career record vs MI: 8 inns, 218 runs, avg. 27.25, SR 128.99.


Wriddhiman Saha has an excellent record against MI. In 14 innings, the keeper-batsman has struck 405 runs at an average of 40.50 and strike rate of 128.98.


Hardik Pandya dominate his former team? He looked good against them last season before he was run out for a 14-ball 24. The GT skipper is coming off a 50-ball 66 against LSG.
Hardik has smashed 46 off 21 against Piyush Chawla in the IPL (one dismissal).


Rashid Khan has a strong record against MI, with 12 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of just 5.75. He has had the wood over Rohit Sharma in the IPL having dismissed him thrice in 21 balls at a strike rate of 109.50.

Rashid has taken 12 wickets in six matches this season. Seven of them have come in three matches at Ahmedabad.

Cameron Green is in fine form. He has struck 64* and 67 in his last two matches, along with three wickets.

Jofra Archer can turn the game in MI’s favour. He has an excellent record against Shubman Gill in the IPL, dismissing him twice in 13 balls at a strike rate of 69.2. He has also done well against Hardik Pandya in all T20s, with total figures of 3/51 off 46 balls.
