Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Punjab Kings

Shikhar Dhawan didn’t play in the last game due to a shoulder niggle. He is expected to return for this clash. The southpaw has 679 runs at a 32.33 average and a strike rate of 124.13 against RCB

Liam Livingstone is one of the best T20 players at the moment. In the four innings against RCB, Livingstone has 106 runs at an average of 35.33 and a strike rate of 155.88. His bowling expertise is a bonus.

Sikandar Raza was the Man of the Match in the last game. He took a wicket and later scored a match-winning half-century (57) against LSG. His bowling will again be very effective on the Mohali track, given it’s a day game.

Sam Curran bowled really well in the last game, snaring three vital wickets. He has five wickets at a strike rate of 16.80 against RCB. His cutters will be threatening again. Curran can also contribute with the bat if required.

Arshdeep Singh has the most number of wickets (8) at a strike rate of 12.75 for PBKS this season. Five of them have come in the powerplay in IPL 2023. He will be vital against RCB’s strong opening combination.

Kagiso Rabada has taken 16 wickets at an average of 12.62 and a strike rate of 10.50 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is a genuine wicket-taker. Rabada will look to build on this impressive record.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Virat Kohli has made 802 runs at an average of 30.84 and a strike rate of 127.91 against Punjab Kings. He has also made two fifties and a century against PBKS. Kohli’s form has also been very good this season.

Faf du Plessis is in the form of his life. He is the Orange Cap holder so far, with 259 runs at a sensational average of 64.75 and a strike rate of 172.67. 72.58% of his total runs have come in boundaries.

Glenn Maxwell played a tremendous knock against CSK in the last game. The Aussie batter hit as many as eight sixes in a 76-run knock.

Wanindu Hasaranga will enjoy bowling in Mohali. The track will be on the slower side, and Hasaranga’s variations will be arduous to pick. He has a lethal googly in his armour.

Mohammed Siraj has been a standout new ball bowler in IPL 2023. He has picked up four wickets at an average of 13.25 and an economy rate of 4.41 in the first six overs.
