Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul’s RCB is one of his favourite opponents. He has scored 628 runs against them at an average of 69.78 and strike rate of 145.03.

Rahul vs Siraj will be key. In 53 deliveries, Rahul has struck 96 runs against the seamer, dismissed once.

Nicholas Pooran blew RCB away earlier this season. He smashed one of the fastest fifties in IPL history. In all T20s, he has scored 70 off 41 against Harshal Patel (one dismissal).

Kyle Mayers is striking at 160.54 this season. Only Faf du Plessis (167.46) and Glenn Maxwell (186.95) have a better strike rate among the top 15 run-scorers in IPL 2023.

Marcus Stoinis struck a gamechanging 65 off 30 balls against RCB earlier this season. In nine innings against Bangalore in his career, Stoinis has hit 230 runs at an average of 38.33 and strike rate of 169.12.

Avesh Khan has dismissed Virat Kohli twice in 21 balls in the IPL (23 runs). Also, Faf du Plessis strikes at just 123.1 against him (48 off 39 balls, one dismissal).

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Faf du Plessis is having a dream season. The RCB captain is the league’s second-highest run-scorer (422) with an average of 60.28 and strike rate of 167.46.

Faf hit 79* (46) against LSG earlier this season. However, how will the RCB opener fare on what is expected to be a slower Lucknow pitch?

Virat Kohli 112 balls against spin this season, Kohli has struck just 126 runs (SR 112.5) and has been dismissed four times.

Glenn Maxwell has a strike rate of 167.6 against spin this season. However, he has been dismissed six times in 74 balls. So, his battle against the LSG tweakers will be key.

Wanindu Hasaranga will be key against LSG’s strong middle order. He has dismissed Pooran twice in 15 balls in T20s, conceding 21. He has also dismissed Stoinis once in 30 deliveries, but the Australian has managed to hit 57.

Mohammed Siraj has taken the second-most powerplay wickets among fast bowlers in IPL 2023. He took 3/22 against LSG earlier this season.

Other intresting Stats and Facts

Head-to-head: Matches 3, LSG 1, RCB 2.

Marcus Stoinis vs Mohammed Siraj in the IPL: 12 balls faced, 24 runs scored, zero dismissals.

Harshal Patel could stop Stoinis. He has dismissed him twice in 19 balls, conceding just 24.

Krunal Pandya can keep Virat Kohli quiet. Kohli strikes at just 106.5 in 93 deliveries against the left-arm spinner in the IPL.

Ravi Bishnoi has taken five wickets in four matches on this ground at an economy of 7.86 and strike rate of 17.40.

LSG have taken 30 wickets in four home matches this season at an economy of just 6.98.

Amit Mishra has dismissed Maxwell five times, but the RCB number four strikes at 204.35 against him.

In IPL 2023, fast bowlers have averaged 3.8 wickets per innings on an average in the eight batting innings here. Spinners, who've had purchase and turn on offer, have been more economical by conceding at 7.2 an over, compared to 7.7 off the quicks.

The Ekana Stadium is the least favourable IPL 2023 venue in terms of run rate (7.50). Because scoring has been difficult, it's also produced the second-highest balls per six (22.3) in a match.

Siraj has the second-most powerplay wickets among fast bowlers this season, but KL Rahul, who has tended to start slow, has a favourable match-up. His strike rate of 181 against Siraj is the second-highest against those who've bowled at least 40 T20 balls to him.

KL Rahul has hit 628 runs at a strike rate of 145.03 in 13 innings against former employers RCB

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis have hit 504 runs for the opening stand this season, including two century alliances, at an average of 63.00
