Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Lucknow Super Giants

Kyle Mayers has the most runs for LSG in IPL 2023. The southpaw has 219 runs at an average of 36.50 and a strike rate of 154.23 in six innings this season. 72.14% of his runs have come in boundaries.

KL Rahul has played two vital knocks in the past two games. The LSG skipper is known for his consistency in the league. However, Rahul should be cautious against Mohammed Shami early in the innings.

Deepak Hooda has had a rough season so far. However, he is a quality batter and can regain his form soon. In the two innings last season, Hooda scored: 55 (41) & 27 (26) against Gujarat Titans.

Marcus Stoinis has had good outings in the tournament. Stoinis was the Player of the Match against Rajasthan Royals in the last game. His cutters into the pitch will be threatening again if the surface is slow in Lucknow.

Krunal Pandya has enjoyed playing in Lucknow. He has four wickets at a strike rate of 10.50 and an economy rate of 7.14 here. Moreover, Pandya has also made 67 runs at an average of 33.50 and a strike rate of 126.41 in three innings with the willow.

Mark Wood is the second-leading wicket-taker (11) at an average of 11.82 despite playing only four games this season. He can trouble the GT batters with his high pace again.

Gujarat Titans

Shubman Gill has 228 runs at an average of 45.60 and a strike rate of 139.88 in IPL 2023. He is classy and consistent. In the last season, Gill also played a fine knock of 63 runs against Lucknow Super Giants.

Sai Sudharsan is among the regular scorers of the season. He averages 44 and has already amassed two fifties in five innings this year. However, Mark Wood is a massive threat to him, as he has had trouble handling high pace at times. Hence, Sai needs to be vigilant against Wood.

Hardik Pandya provides value in all departments. After a few below-par games, Hardik looked in good shape against Rajasthan Royals in the last match. He made 28 runs off 19 balls, his highest score this season. With the ball, Hardik scalped a wicket while conceding only 24 runs.

Rashid Khan doesn’t need any introduction. He is a runaway match-winner in this format. In the two matches, Rashid has five wickets at a fantastic strike rate of 9.40 and an economy rate of 6.51 against Lucknow Super Giants.

Mohammed Shami wreaked havoc against LSG last year. In the first game, Shami took three wickets for 25 runs. In the second game, he snared one wicket while conceding only five runs in the three overs. Expect him to stifle a few batters again.

Shami has had the better of KL Rahul in the IPL: 17 balls, 13 runs, two wickets.
